Q: Does my 2004 Toyota Camry LE (4 cylinder) have a timing belt or a timing chain?
The maintenance schedule says that the timing belt needs to be changed after 90k miles, but I have been told that my Camry does not have a timing belt.... If I have a timing chain, I assume that I don't have to worry about replacing it, right?

A: It has a chain. No need to worry about it.

Q: What Could I do to make my 2004 toyota camry LE to look nicer...not adding in chrome rims or ugly ass body kit?
Toyota Camry LE

A: You could lower the car with quality lowering springs from Eibach. This will help with handling and braking. You could also upsize your tires and wheels. A 16 inch or 17 inch upsizing with the lowering springs add real nice visual appeal. I have found that classy rims like multispoke rims like you find on BMW look very nice on the Camry. If you have enough money you could install new gas struts all around...you would be amazed by how good the car handles, and brakes after all this... Lowering the car with quality springs and installing quality shocks from KYB make the car look better, classier, and perform better. And it won't look ricer. I stay away from Tinting because cops have issue with them depending on city and state...if it is factory tinted they can't say much but if they are pricks they can give you a hard time.

Q: 2004 Toyota Camry LE, 2.4L, 4cyl, dealer says it has timing chain, not belt, thus no need to service chain?
Dealer says that in past years, vehicles like my 2004 Camry LE needed normal service performed on timing chains, but this was around the 1990’s. So they said they do not provide as a normal service the changing of a timing chain for my sort of make/model/yr. They said they have changed them but it is rare and only when something became wrong or accident or other. The timing chain costs appr 200 for the part if it ever needed to be replaced. They said, instead of concerning myself with a timing chain, just keep an eye on the serpentine belt which runs about 50 for the part. This can be seen when you open the hood and looks like a huge fat fan belt. They also said that if my car had a timing belt instead of chain, then at 90000 mls they would have changed it. The car runs great, but I heard horror stories about not changing timing belts. Does all of this seem correct? thanks

A: True.

Q: i have a 2004 toyota camry le what do i need to buy to do i tune up?i have to pass my insoection this month?
aslo, my wheel shakes when i drive is that my tires? i know i need new tires too!

A: What kind of inspection are you trying to pass? And how many miles do you have on the car? Generally good idea to change your oil, oil filter, spark plugs for starters. If you have over 100,000 miles, get your belts and hoses checked too.

Q: what fuse box and conversion kit for car audio best for 2004 toyota camry le?
i am hooking up my speakers and my cousin told me i need a fuse box and conversion car kit or it will drain battery what is the best

A: go to best buy, circuit city, or even walmart and look in the car section for an "amp wiring kit". it will give you all the wiring you need to hook up the amp (fuse, wiring, cables, etc). only thing is if you have a factory radio or an aftermarket. if it is factory, youll most likely need an line-in convertor for the RCA cables to the amp. if its aftermarket, it should have pre-outs on the back of the unit to hook the cables up to.

Q: How do I install a rear bumper cover on a Toyota Camry (LE) 2004?
* If possible link to websites with graphics/images*

A: The main mounting bolts is gonna be on the left and right side of the trunk behind the carpeting at the bottom. There should be 3 on each side and any of those plastic snap things on the top and bottom come off by prying up gently. You gotta be very easy with them as they are made for 1 time use only. To make the location easy for you the area is in the side storage compartment at the left and right side of the spare tire under the wooden board.

Q: Will a 2004 toyota camry le engine run on 100% biodiesel or 100% ethenol?

A: Neither, a Toyota Camry LE engine is a gasoline engine, it will not run on diesel, bio or otherwise,a as far as ethanol, it won't run on that either unless it's extensively modified

Q: 2004 toyota camry le i have 37,000 miles when is a good time for a tune up?
also, i think its my brakes but dont know which ones its makes a loud scraping on the floor sound like im dragging something under my car sound could these be my brake pads or brakes if so , how do i know which ones frontor back i was going to take it to get fixed the mechanic quoted me $120 for front brakes is that right? also, how long can u go w/o an oil change?

A: i own a repair shop, and its about time for a good one,,i usually recommend doing them at or around 30 thousand miles ,,this way it keeps it running like a new one should but yes i would go ahead and do one on it now rather than wait, its probably going to be cheaper to now anyway since it wont need as much done to it,,but this is a good time to get it done,,good luck and have a good x-mas,,i hope this help,s.

Q: I have a 2004 toyota camry le and my insoection is due this month my front window tints peeled off and my back
window wont roll down...can i still get tint to pass the inspection just in the front also, my tires are pretty bad do i need new tires to pass...i passed last year only thing was on of my blades was lose on my windshiled wipers...i need to know before i spend 40 bucks plus on tinting, oil change and tires? i live in texas

A: best way to spend as little as possible take it for the inspection and fix what they ask you to. otherwise you may spend money fixing something the are not concerned with.

Q: 2004 camry toyota le maint ?
my back right window wont roll down what could it be?also how often do you have to change the oil i have 36.000miles on it now and my last oil change was 33000 miles when do you need a tune up? also do i need an alignement b/c my steering wheel shakes a little bit when i drive?thanks for your answers

A: You probably need a right rear window motor, they are known for going bad. Toyota reccommends 5000 mile oil changes, I believe in 3000miles. A tune up in this car is done at 100,000 miles it has IRIDIUM PLUGS. Your steering shake could be caused by out of balance wheel/tires, bent rim. Have a rotate and balance done, then have them check and adjust alignment as needed.

Q: my toyota camry 4cl le 2004 problem...?
my toyota camry 2004 can not start and the neighbor told me starter went out,so please anyone know is it cheap and easy to fix?do i need a new one from dealer or just a rebuild from napa or o'reilly?thanks for helping me!!!

A: impossible to tell you for sure. who is your neighbor? is he a technician? why does he say that your starter went out? did he try tapping the starter while you try to start the car? try that... hit the starter while someone tries to start the car. if the car starts, then yes, your starter is bad. and get another one. new ones are always better. see the price difference between the new and the old one. but if you want a real diagnosis, you have to take it to a shop or dealer.
