Q: My 2000 Toyota Camry LE 4cyl won't start can you help me?
It tries to turn over but it sounds like it can't get compression or like it's out of gas. I bought it used and it has a car alarm that was locked in vallet mode and I never uninstalled it. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I am so worried the engine is blown but hope it is something cheaper like fuel filter, pump or the stupid alarm. A little detail I left out, it sputters when it tries to turn over.

A: If it sputters and tries to start, then the alarm must be OK, because if not it just won't start, period. Don't know why the engine would be blown unless it died while driving, often indicating the timing belt broke. If that happened it would sound real funny when you tried to start it. The only reason my Toyota ever started hard was because it needed a tuneup--new spark plugs and wires are about all you change, nowadays, maybe the distributor cap and rotor if you have one. Except for one thing--the time I got water in the gas from a different gas station. My Honda died about five hours later, had to disconnect the fuel line to the carburetor and crank it to spew it out, then it started and ran fine. You might try a can of gas line antifreeze. That will mix with the water and let it burn. Best regards, Mike

Q: I have a 2000 Toyota Camry Le whose check engine light came on and after pluging my own obd it read this code:
P1150 Air/Fuel Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Could someone tell me how serious this is? Thanks in advance.

A: The computer uses air/fuel(oxygen)sensors in the first and vital step of maintaining the air/fuel mixture as close to perfect as possible. Every time the car is driven , during a preset criteria, the computer momentarily does things to the injector on-times to cause the A/F sensors to shift to a too lean state, then to a too rich state. Any sensorhat fails to shift is flagged until the next time they are tested, and if they fail a second time, the SES light comes on and the code for the sensor is stored.Anytime the light is on, the vehicle is exceeding the federal standards for emissions, which usually can be translated into a loss of fuel ecomony.

Q: my 2000 toyota camry le does not stop shaking when I push the brake, it is being on and off for one week and..
I had it checked with a mechanic friend of mine who fixed it momentarily but the problem started again. The engine light goes on and off too and I decided to have the system test at a shop. Now, my question is if anybody could tell me beforehand what could it happens with my car and also if system test are 100 percent secure in order to find out what is going on with your car. Thanks to all supporters.

A: I really dont understand your question. If the steering wheel shakes when braking mostly at higher speeds like above 50, then your rotors in the front either need to be replaced or machined depending what the actually readings are with the micrometer. The check engine light is irrelevant to the brakes shaking and would require a diagnosis, which most shops charge an hours labor to perform, with the little info you gave, I hope that helped a little.

Q: What Do people think of the 2000 Toyota Camry LE I4 2.2 LT. car?
Also, what is the max speed of this car on flat ground, i've made it 100 on the freeway with the tachometer at 3

A: I agree with the last answer. Also, the 2000 Camry 4 cylinder is a great car. The 5S-FE engine it uses is the same engine used in the 1990-1999 Celicas and the 1991-1996 MR2 non-turbo. Camrys used that engine from 1992-2001. Very low maintenance cars and most parts are pretty inexpensive to replace. The 4 cylinders are better than the V6 in reliability and ownership cost, even if the V6 engine is the marvel that critics claim it is. Another cool thing about the 4 cylinder Camry is that it is a non-interference engine. Timing belt breaks while driving- no worries about engine damage (Can't say that about the V6). Replace the belt and go. That's the engine that powers those Camrys you hear about with over 400,000 trouble-free miles on the original engines. Need I say more?

Q: 2000 Toyota Camry LE blown engine - scrap or repair?
Hello, I Have a 2000 Toyota Camry LE and I recently heard a noise from under the hood. It turned out to be a piston knocking and I drove a little too long and the piston shot right through the engine and broke off. There is a big whole in the engine now and needs to be replaced. I am having a hard time here... I don't know what I should do. The car has 280k KM on it and most people are telling me to scrap the car and finance a different one because the money i'd have to pay to put a used engine into it ($1500 to $2500) they just say it's not worth the money to me. I personally like the car and have done some recent work to it... I would like to keep it but I need to know some other opinions. Yahoo answers always has given great answers for me in the past so I came here. Is there any problems that I will face when putting a used engine into this car? Will the timing fuck up and throw everything else off ... ex - transmission etc. Will it be worth my time to do this or to just move on to a different car and try my luck that way? Anything you guys/girls would like to add... please feel free... this has beaten me up bad... it's depressing when this happens as it's hard to afford things over and over again and i'll have to work extra to make this happen if I do have to replace the engine or else I will just finance another car... but all my upgrades and repairs will go to waste.. I put a lot of new parts on it. Anything would be a help... Thanks in advance, Mitch

A: SCRAP , get a new car

Q: What is a good price for 2000 Toyota Camry LE from a dealership?
I am looking to purchase a 2000 Toyota Camry LE with 69,000 miles from a dealer. The vehicle is automatic, 4-cyl, 1 previous owner, AC, power steering, power windows/doors, Cruise control, AM/FM stereo, Cassette, Single CD, Dual front air bags, power seats, and a sun roof. The dealership is selling the vehicle for $10,500. When I inquired about the vehicle the dealer said the lowest price he could sell me the car was $9,800. However the Kelly Blue Book value is $9,055, and the NADA value is $8,975. Where should I start negotiating the price, and how much should expect to pay for this vehicle? Or what is the most I should offer to pay for it?

A: go in and tell them you will pay 8500,00 no more no less.if they say no start to walk and watch who drives out with a new toyota.dealers are really trying to get rid of stock and will take about anything to get rid of it.be firm.dont give them an inch,if you do they will try to charge more because they think they can get it.

Q: 2000 Toyota Camry Le Sunroof Problem?
Hello, The tracks my sunroof slides on seems to have broken "clips" inside of them. I am talking about the parts that get pulled by the cables inside the track. where can i buy these? What are they Called?

A: The parts department at your Toyota dealer can answer that together with a price for having it done professionally

Q: 2000 Toyota Camry LE 6cyl Questions?
1) How does one R&R the AC-Heater blower under the dash? I can't even see it, but it sure vibrates on higher speeds......2) How does one R&R the factory radio (or the antenna lead to it) with the upgraded factory sound system? It has static on AM on bumpy roads. Are special tools required?......3) How wide spread is the oil-gel problem? We have 54,000 miles and have changed the oil every 3,000 to-5,000 miles? Thank you in advance

A: If you are doing this your self, you must get a manual. And follow the order described in the manual. I don`t know what you mean by oil gel? Have fun

Q: 2000 Toyota Camry LE V6 O2 sensors?
My car has 138,000 miles on it and the check engine light is on and the scanner said the o2 sensors. I was wondering if it will hurt to drive it for a couple months without getting it fixed and how much it might cost

A: You can drive that car until it dies without changing the sensors unless you have to pass an emissions test. You are just going to get crappy fuel economy. If you buy the more expensive O2 sensor from the parts store (not the dealer) you can change it yourself cheap, its just 2 bolts and the new one will just plug right in. It is the only electrical wire coming off your exhaust pipe.

Q: 90,000mi Service on a 4cyl 2000 Toyota Camry LE?
Hello all, My car is due for an oil change and it's getting close to 90,000mi. I am religious about getting oil changes done and always bring it to the dealer to get major work done (30k,60k,90k service and other work). I just called the dealer and they quoted $270 for the 90k service, which sounds reasonable. However, the dealer said that the spark plugs may need to be replaced at a cost of $100. I'm assuming this is not only Toyota plugs, but new cables as well. Does this sound about right? Thanks in advance.

A: NO! Not if you can do it yourself. I just replaced plugs and wires in an 02 PT Cruiser for about $40. O'reilly's will help you find whatever you need to tune up you car yourself. It just takes a little bit of time. 1.5 hrs. max. O'reilly's also have great sales on motor oil, usually in house brand but all the same if it is SAE, and filters are cheap. Don't forget the air filter. With oil, filter, air filter, plugs and wires it'll probably cost around $100.

Q: My 2000 Toyota Camry LE idles rough, making loud rattling sounds, but runs beautifully when I'm driving. Why?
The car runs like a dream while driving, but when stopped and idling it makes a lot of noise, kind of like the engine of a Ford Model A... any thoughts as to why and what I should do... the check engine light is on, but when I took it to my local Lube Shop that offers free computer diagnostics with a state inspection, they said it was just a bad seal on my gas cap and reset the computer. I got a new gas cap, but the check engine light has come back on and I still have the same rough idle... I get the feeling that they just reset the computer because whatever came up on the diagnostic was something they couldn't fix, and they can't legally pass me on inspection with the check engine light on, thus they would not get my business that day if they sent me away.... Any thoughts as to what might be wrong? I can afford to fix the problem for my car's sake, but I just hate paying an ungodly fee for the computer diagnostic on top of the repair.

A: try to check it out first on auto repair shop...

Q: How much do front brake pads & rotors cost on a 2000 Toyota Camry LE.?
Hello, Yesterday my car started grinding when I was braking... I knew my pads were low and I drove on it for about a day. The grinding got worse as I knew there was no pad left and it was now metal on metal. I took my car into Speedy Auto and got it checked out. They showed me bare brake pads and grooves in my rotors from the grinding. They said the rotors had hot spots on them and wouldn't be able to be machined.... that they would have to change the rotors altogether. So I went ahead with the procedure and the bill turned out to be $341.00 for front brake pads and rotors. Is this a normal price for a procedure like this? Or did I get ripped off a bit here? Thanks for your time, Mitch

A: That is a fair price. Could you have gotten it done at some hillbilly shop cheaper, of course. Speedy is national chain shop and you got a good warranty.

Q: I have a toyota camry 2000 le and I need help...pls..?
I would like to know how I can start my car using just my keys and without the remote starter.. answers will b greatly appreciated., thank you..

A: The key should work in the ignition. Most Camry's have an electronic chip in the key that is required to be close to the sensor in the column before the car will start.

Q: where i can find color code for toyota camry LE 2000?

Q: 2000 Toyota camry radiator smoking?
2000 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinders. Ok my radiator is smoking, I was having over heating issues so I started with replacing the thermostat. There was still some heating issues going so we looked around for leaks. Sure enough we found a leak. We fixed that problem with a new hose. Now the heat issue is fixed and not over heating, however smoke is still coming out from the radiator. We have pondered this problem for a long time. Then I noticed that the fans were not turning. The fans would only turn on when the airconditioner is turned on. Weird stuff. When fans turn on (AC on) the smoke from radiator clears. When fans OFF (AC OFF) the radiator starts to smoke again... Am I having fan issues or something? Is this an electronic sensor problem or whatever? Maybe there is just a fuse burnt? What could be the problem this time? PLEASE HELP !! Thank you so much

A: The fans are supposed to come on with the AC and the steam you see is probably excess coolant that was splashed onto the radiator evaporating off.
